Morung Express New Dimapur | September 1 A man in his mid-thirties was found dead inside a hotel room in Imphal on August 31. The deceased was a trooper of the 26th Battalion CRPF with his official posting in Jharkhand. According to a source, the deceased identified as one Pangerkumba of Kangtsung Yimsen village under Mokokchung district, checked into Hotel Tampha, North AOC, Imphal on August 29 and his dead body was discovered two-days later on the night of August 31 in the same hotel room. He had reportedly gone to Imphal for service related work. The source while not ruling out foul play, added that post-mortem was awaited. Another source from Imphal quoting initial police report, informed that the body was found in a decomposed state. One syringe and a powder suspected to be heroin was found beside the body. The source added that police investigation was on and post-mortem was awaited.
