Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): Describing the fragile stage of history in Nagaland today, Dr. Sanyu Iralu, Principal, Shalom Bible Seminary told graduates of Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS) in Dimapur that, there are lots of views against which they have to struggle. He said what is considered sacred in the eyes of God is permissible to the world. Dr. Iralu said he is shocked at what the world considers permissible and warned that it is getting inside our families. He also said only the word of God can combat the evil of the world.
Addressing the sixteenth graduating batch of OTS at the Sumi Baptist Church Dimapur, Dr. Iralu said hundreds of theology students pass out every year in Nagaland- but the question is if they are able to impact in society, family or church. He argued that one cannot infuse change just because they are equip with the word of God and that it takes sincerity, dedication, seriousness and understanding to adhere to the call of leadership. He encouraged the students to face their challenges with strength and the word of God.
Dr. Iralu also urged the graduates to stand firm in their commitment to God and not to depend on their own strength. “Too many people depend on their own strength,” he said, adding that without divine presence of God in their lives, all will reduce to nothing. He advised them to draw power from God to be successful and effective people.
