Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): Gracefully conceding his defeat, Congress candidate of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C, Y. Hewoto Awomi thanked the Almighty God for the state of his fate, as it was an opportunity for him to retrospect for a brighter future.
A thanksgiving function was today organised by the contested Congress candidate of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C, Y. Hewoto Awomi at his private residence, Thahekhu village where a large number of supporters turned up to encourage him. He assured to work hard and tirelessly for the upliftment and welfare of the public and the party of his constituency in particular and the Nagas in general. He urged the party workers not to lose heart but to remain united and firmer as victory or loss is part of the game, which is not everlasting. Y. A press note received here stated that speaking at the function, Y. Hewoto Awomi expressed his heartfelt and sincere most gratitude to the party workers and supporters who extended their Physical, mental and material support and most of all, who had voted for him in the recently concluded General Election.
He also congratulated Zhaleo Rio, his opponent candidate and expressed his hope that the newly elected MLA would faithfully work for the development and upliftment of the Naga society and particularly his constituency. Some of the party workers and supporters also spoke at the function encouraging the candidate and pledged to support him even in the days to come. The function was chaired by SG Holo while Rev. Dr. Yehevi Jimo, Pastor Thahekhu Baptist Church pronounced the benediction.
