Organisations appeal to attend August 25 rally

Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD) has reaffirmed its “unflinching support” to the rally called on August 25 at supermarket, Dimapur. In a press release issued by its president, Lanutoshi Aier and general secretary, Moayanger Jamir, the union encouraged every right thinking Naga youth to be an agent of change by joining the “public revolution” spearheaded by ACAUT. ASUD reminded all its village and sub units to attend the rally along with their members without fail.  

The Dimapur Area Ao Baptist Churches Pastors Fellowship (DAABAPF) has also extended support to ACAUT. “It is needless to state that our state is passing through the most turbulent period wherein the public are confronting with untold miseries and hardships,” the Fellowship stated in a press release issued by its president Rev I Zulu Jamir and secretary Rev Dr Temjen Ozukum. “Speaking from the pulpit is not enough for the church to cleanse the state both physically and spiritually,” it said while appealing the public to attend the rally.  

The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) while extending all possible cooperation for the cause stated that it is about time for every Naga to come together and eradicate the malady of corruption which has entrenched deeply and engulfed the whole society. “We all have to take a part of our share for the present mess and cannot blame only some section for all these disorder,” CNTC Media Cell stated in a press release. The CNTC appealed every right thinking Naga to support the ACAUT’s cause and to stand together in bringing a change in “our” land.  

The Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN) has also stated it wholeheartedly supports the upcoming rally. With corruption at its highest possible rate and misgovernance at its worst possible state, the time has come for the public to raise a voice against the misdoings and insensitive attitude of the government towards the plight of its citizens, it asserted. PSAN encouraged and invited all the right thinking citizens of Nagaland in general and the civil service aspirants in particular to make their presence felt at the peaceful rally.
