Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): Several organisations have mourned the demise of former DMC member and ex-candidate from Dimapur I Pukhavi Yeputhomi and General Secretary (Admn) NPF Dimapur Division Itokhu Chophy, who passed away on May 20.
KYKD: Mourning the demise of late Pukhavi, the Kulolau Yeputhomi Kuposhukulu Dimapur said “we have lost a resolute and benevolent leader, who has uplifted many deprived and downtrodden fellow beings with his generosity.” Stating that his enormous contributions to the society would be remembered for many generations to come, the KYKD paid homage to the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
WSYF: The Western Sumi Youth Front said that late Pukhavi “wholeheartedly rendered his service in different capacities for the common welfare of the society. His demise has left a void which will be difficult to fill.” The WSYF join the bereaved family in mourning and pray that the almighty God bestow His strength and comfort to all his love ones to overcome this great loss, it stated in its message.
NPF: Conveying condolences on behalf of the NPF, President Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu stated that it was a great pain to part with two regional leaders from the party fold. He said that the contributions of late Pukhavi who contested in the last General election on an NPF ticket, would always be cherished and remembered. Late Itokhu Chophy was a staunch regionalist and considered as the backbone of the Dimapur Division, Dr Liezietsu stated while adding that he was an active and distinguished party leader who worked with dedication and sincerity for the upliftment of the party in general and Dimapur Division in particular. “The vacuum created by them will be difficult to fill,” he added.
NPP: Meanwhile, the NPP Nagaland State also mourned the demise of the two leaders stating that “They were both indeed prolific individuals who worked actively and diligently to fulfil their duties for the greater good of our society. It is certainly a tragedy to have lost such visionaries and leaders of the soil.”
It conveyed heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved families, friends, relatives, well-wishers and their colleagues and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.
