Different social and student’s organizations spearheaded by the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) in reaction to the physical assault on Shri. Mohon Lal Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul District by Shri. A. Aza, MLA, Chingai constituency Ukhrul and his associates and his son at the residence of DC over allotment of 100% developmental schemes in favour of his party in the district has condemned the act as deplorable and immature.
The social organizations such as Tangkhul Student’s Council (TKS), Tangkhul Youth Council (TMNL), Tangkhul Shanao long (TSL) and Tangkhul Naga Long is shocked over the indecency of the MLA who represents the people and stand as paradigm of a democratic leader.
All the organizations in conjunction with the preceding of the sitting at TNL office in connection with the matter and their attempt to dictate over the execution of the district administrative officer and the eventual strive and physical attack on the commissioner call for a stringent corrective measure against the undemocratic dealing of the MLA.
The Social Organizations while questioning the high- handedness of the legislative body in a democratic set up has demanded an answer in relation to the present issue.
In the event of the failure of the authority concerned to book the culprits, who are responsible for denigrating the honour and dignity of the administrative officer who stands for generalized social upliftment in the district, the organizations will be compelled to take up harsher and stringent measure of agitation in the interest of all the people.
