OST launched at Zunheboto

DIMAPUR, MARCH 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State Aids Control Society launched the Opioid Substitution Therapy at District Hospital, Zunheboto on the March 8.  During the programme a brief talk on the philosophy behind the OST programme was presented by Dr. R. Rose Chakhesang, State Programme Officer HIV/TB for NSACS. He further said that with the launching of the OST facility in the districts, HIV transmission through injecting among drug users would be drastically reduced. Invocation was pronounced by Pastor Shitoho Kiho of SBCZ while Dr. Shikhu, Nodal, officer of OST chaired the programme. A press notes stated that NSACS has instituted this OST to almost all the district hospitals of Nagaland except Kohima, Dimapur and Phek, where the facility is provided by NGOs.
