
Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): Moatsü festival of the Ao community was celebrated at Ongpangkong Senso Telongjem Diphupar with a difference on May 3.
Focusing on the younger generation, which is gradually deprived of the cultural heritage owing to the social transformation, the elderly participants performed and elaborated the richness of the tribe's heritage and socio-cultural traditions, a press release informed on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Lima Jamir, who graced the occasion as chief guest stressed on the future state of culture, especially among the younger generation.
Emphasizing the need for the younger generation to carry on the traditional values, Dr Lima said, culture is defined as all the ways of life including, arts, belief systems and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been called “the way of life for an entire society,” he said.
