Zunheboto, November 14 (MExN): While gracing the 11th Cultural Meet-cum-Pre-Ahuna Festival of Satakha Area Sports & Cultural Association (SASCA), the Additional Deputy Commissioner TL Kiusumong, NCS emphasized on preserving the rich cultural heritage and identity.
He said that “our culture reflects our identity” to which he encouraged the gathering to preserve the rich cultural heritage which is inherited from our forefathers. The festival was organized by SASCA on November 12 at Satakha Public Ground, stated a DIPR report.
Highlights of the event included cultural competition among the villages under Satakha area, Assu Nikhuzhe Swu, Akukau of Kilo Old Village performed Ahuna rituals as practiced by Sϋmi forefathers, Kasheto GT and Khelika GT of GHSS chaired the programme, SASCA President Er Kughashe Zhimo delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks was pronounced by Satakha Area Kukami Hoho President Hokugha Akukau. EAC Satakha Saku Chang gave away the prize to winners of various competitions. Invocation and benediction were made by Rev Kughato Chophy, Pastor STBC and Vikheyi, Pastor Satakha Village respectively.
