
Kohima, February 15 (DIPR): R.S. Pandey, Advisor to Governor has reviewed the physical and financial performance of the implementation of Annual Plan 2007-08 at the meeting of Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments in the conference hall of the Nagaland Secretariat hall in Kohima on 14th February 2008.
He also held in-dept discussions on the draft Annual Plan for the year 2008-09. Reviewing the performance of the current plan, R.S. Pandey appealed to the officers to implement all the appropriate projects with all seriousness. He said that while implementing the programmes, basic needs of the people, such as roads, water, power, human resource development should be given special attention. He also said there is a need to give special focus on creation of wealth/assets.
The Advisor to the Governor also drew the attention of the officers to the concern shared by the Governor on augmentation of drinking water supply to the people of Kohima town, improvement of towns, 12 room guest house in Kohima, and urgent need to set up a Nursing College, Medical College, Engineering College and improvement of district hospitals.
The Advisor also held discussions on approach, objectives and strategies of major departments such as Roads & Bridges, Public Health Engineering, Rural Development, Industries and Commerce and Agriculture and its allied sector for the Annual Plan 2008-08.
Taking part in the discussions Chief Secretary, Lalhuma reiterated that priority should be given to all programmes being undertaken under NEC, DoNER and CSS. He also directed departments to look for innovative schemes for inclusion in the plan programme.
Senior officers shared their views on meagre resources for maintenance of assets created in the past such as roads, transmission of power, water supply and implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes with the Advisor, Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner, Lalthara.
