Papers invited for NE biodiversity seminar

Jakhama, March 18 (MExN): A two-day national seminar on “Biodiversity of Northeast India” will be held from October 3 to 4 at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama. The seminar focuses on the need for conservation of biodiversity and natural resources of the region. It aims at calling attention to the area’s rich biodiversity, the threat to its existence, the role of the Government departments, and the impacts on the people and all those who live in the region as they try to protect, promote and preserve the rich aspects of their motherland, according to a press release.

Papers have been invited from research scholars, scientists, sociologists, agencies and others who are involved in these areas of concern to present their views, their scholarship and research.

The seminar includes and is not limited to the following panels: Endangered flora, Endangered fauna, Conservation of Biodiversity of Northeast, Fish biodiversity, Impact of pollution on Biodiversity, Biodiversity conservation issues of Northeast India.
