
Chümoukedima, July 23 (MExN): In commemoration of the college’s 50th anniversary (1974-2024), Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) has announced its forthcoming Choral Competition for Church Choirs, to be held at the college’s auditorium on September 21, 2024.
The competition welcomes all church choirs, and there is no registration fee. Patkai, with its clear understanding and appreciation of the role played by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council and Manipur Baptist Convention since its foundation, hopes to revitalize the relationship with the churches through this event, while also providing a platform to the choirs to come together, celebrate and experience the benefits of making music together, an update received here stated.
As a pioneering institution in music education since its inception, with the sacrificial contributions of late Margaret Shishak and founder and principal emeritus Rev Dr Tuisem A Shishak, the college regards this event as befitting the 50 years celebration, acknowledging the profound impact of its music throughout the country, particularly in the churches.
This Choral Competition is organised in collaboration with TaFMA. The prize money is as follows: First prize: Rs 1,25,000, Second Prize: Rs 1,00000, Third Prize: Rs 75,000, Best conductor: Rs 20,000.
