Patkai Road Project: Charity concert on October 7

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): A charity concert to generate fund for a road project of Patkai Christian College (PCC) will be held on October 7, 5:00 pm at Bundrock Chapel cum Auditorium, PCC.   The concert, which also aims to create awareness on the road project among the alumni living in various parts of the state, will feature popular artists like Alobo Naga (who is also an alumnus of the college), The Gluttones, Virie & Zaza, Nüvüsalü, Pocket Toons, Tekhengulo-ü, Slice of Heaven, Search and Found.   A press release from C. Rejulong Lemtur, Vice President, SUPCC informed that Patkai Road Project was initiated jointly by Fingerprint, Alumni Association Patkai Christian College (AAPCC), Students’ Union Patkai Christian College (SUPCC), and Post Graduate Students’ Welfare Committee (PGSWC) in the month of July.   The release pointed out that Patkai Christian College is a premier institute in the state, but the college is flawed in one major aspect – roads. “It’s been couple of years since the roads started deteriorating. Campus roads are filled with potholes during harsh rainfall and dusty during peak summer. This has become a struggle for the student community in particular and the public in general,” Rejulong stated.   Fingerprint, spearheaded by Hongba Phom (former President, SUPCC) approached the college community for the road project. After a joint meeting with the alumni executives and student body executives in the month of June, a Road Project Committee was formed to manage and oversee the project. The committee consists of representatives from the alumni community, student body executives, and the college representatives.   The committee plans to construct 1.4 km of the total 7 km stretch of campus road at an estimated cost of Rs. 80 lakh with help from the alumni community, the release added. The road construction will start from the college main gate till the new campus boys’ hostel through the auditorium (Bundrock Chapel Hall), girls’ hostel, Administrative Block and library.   For the October 7 concert, ticket bookings are done at Counter sale, Furtados Music Store, and Alobo Naga School of Music.
