Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): The 4th Peace Forum women leadership training programme conducted by Peace Channel was held with the objectives to engage women discussing on the importance of peace and well-being of the society while initiating in various activities to foster healthy approach to communicate better with mutual understanding and build resilience among different communities and colonies.
The training was held under the theme ‘Peace Mission’ for Padampukhri and Sachu colony in Dimapur on February 11 and 12.
A press release from Peace Channel stated that over 18 selected women from Sachu colony and 20 women in Padampukhri attended the training, both under the leadership of Caroline Leisan, Coordinator, District unit, Peace Channel.
“The mission of the Peace Channel is to reach out to the people in every village, two, district, state, country or abroad to stop violence and promote peace,” Caroline stated after sharing the vision of “Make a world where there is love and peace and justice.”
Nagamese Baptist Church Association, General Secretary, Mhabeni Ngullie spoke on the need to spread the message of peace and assured to extend support to Peace Channel in their endeavours in the future.
Rita Gosh, Women Team Leader, Peace Forum expressed satisfaction of the initiative of Peace Channel sharing that neighbours have developed closeness and cordial relationships within the society.
“The programme acted as a safe haven for women and helped resolve their problems peacefully and effectively while providing an initiative for women in their respected localities to seek insight and advice for promoting a peaceful resolve of the challenges existing in our society,” the release stated.
