Kohima | December 10

It was an early Christmas as braving the cold winter rain in Kohima, fans thronged to the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima to celebrate the Christmas season with Boney M on December 10.

Liz Mitchell from the original Boney M line up enthralled the crowd along with the younger band members namely Tony Ashcroft, Valerie Margaret Jacinth and Vanessa Paulette.

Liz Mitchell shared her brief testimony of being a believer of Christ during the performance and wished for peace, harmony and love in Nagaland, asserting “Peace, harmony and love because without it, the world is in serious trouble.”

Amidst performances, Liz Mitchell and Tony Ashcroft walked down from the stage as they sang and shook hands with the crowd. As promised by the organizers, Nagaland Outdoor Club (NOC), the event was a family celebration with the presence of the young as well as the elderly. Further it was a treat for kids as Liz Mitchell called the children present at the concert to join them on stage while performing ‘Brown Girl in the ring’.

The group did not disappoint the crowd when they performed Feliz Navidad wishing Kohima a Happy Christmas. Other performances were presented by artists like Jonathan Yhome, Moko Koza, Khriebu Meyase, Mengu Suokhrie.
