Peace is here, please don’t kill: NPF appeals

Dimapur June 15 (MExN): Asserting that peace and tranquility has ushered in and as a result ‘hectic’ developments have taken place in “all nook and corner of Nagaland”, the NPF Kohima Executives have appealed to the underground groups, currently engaged in an on and off face-offs, to refrain from factional killings and bloodshed.

The ironic observation was made as one of the ‘decisions’ taken at the NPF Executives meeting held June 14 at the Tourist Lodge, Kohima. Maintaining that ever since the NPF-led DAN assumed power tranquility and developments have taken place at a ‘hectic’ pace, the party appealed to all undergrounds to restrain themselves from fratricidal killings “since lots of developments programmes are on the card”.

The NPF also mentioned the Chief Minister’s visit to Israel recently asserting that the Israel Government was “impressed so much that within a month’s time, the Israel government has deputed two of its high ranking officials to Nagaland to help and develop the people in the field of agriculture and allied sector”. The party extended profound gratitude to the Israel government and the two officials.

Further, taking serious view of the mushrooming of vehicles in Kohima and constant traffic inconveniences becoming a serious menace, the party calling to ensure “relieving ourselves”, appealed to the general public, particularly vehicle users, to strictly comply with traffic rules and develop a ‘sense of maintaining patience’ from  “surpassing other vehicles,” parking of vehicles etc.

The meeting also registered appreciation to the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima and the Kohima Municipal Council for their “magnanimous venture” in carrying out road-widening works in the capital, particularly the TCP Gate area.
