Peace; the only option for Nagas

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER2 (MExN): Commemorating the 138th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Father of the Nation’ a Prayer Meeting for Peace was held at the Conference Hall, District Congress Committee Office, Dimapur. Gandhi Jayanti is also observed as the International Day of Non- Violence by the United Nation all over the world.

Senior Citizen, R.C Chiten Jamir while speaking on the function said, “The whole world is racing the problem of active and passive corruptions. He also said, “In Nagaland, if we want to leave a future for our children, a happier Nagaland blessed with peace, progress and prosperity then in our generation we must shun violence of all sorts and determine to make Nagaland Violence Free and become more sensitive to wrong doings. We must stop consenting to easier ways”.

Associate Pastor Lotha Baptist Church, Dimapur Yanbemo Ovung said that ‘tribalism is killing the Nagas.’ There is no inner peace among the Nagas and ‘Tribalism’ is making the unrest worst. The only way out is to walk in the principles of non-violence he added.
