
Peren, September 6 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held today at the DC's Conference Hall, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and DPDB Vice-Chairman, Hiazu Meru.
The meeting began with a review of the previous minutes, followed by discussions on several key issues affecting the district. Among the topics deliberated were the shortage of Mathematics and Science teachers in government schools, a review of the Independence Day 2024 celebration, and the beautification of the Peren District Headquarters.
The DPDB also discussed the 'Green Peren' initiative, Chief Minister’s Life Insurance Scheme (CMLIS) for government employees in the district, the creation of a Health Sub-Centre at New Jalukie, and plans to revive the Officer’s Club in Peren. An inter-departmental tournament was also proposed.
In addition, the board agreed to recommend the registration of several societies, including Delta Brothers Society, Nkwarew Village; Hairang Co-operative Society, Jalukie; Zeme Baptist Churches Association, Jalukie; Tazei Development Foundation, New Jalukie; and Christian School, Tesen.
The meeting featured a presentation from the Horticulture Department on its activities, while the Department of Agriculture was assigned to present in the next meeting. New board members, ADC Tening, K. Furhesie Nyuwi, and NZPO President, Zandi Domta, were also introduced.
