Altogether 23 participants from five states of India are attending the Permaculture training in Tuensang under the theme ‘Perma-Naga: Thinking regenerative, teaching where it matters’ with Kuttss and Madhu, international certificate Permaculture trainer.

 


The 16-day certificate course organised by Better Life Foundation in collaboration with Department of Land Resources (LRD), Government of Nagaland will touch on topic such as earth care, people care and fair share as principles of Permaculture. The training will be held from February 27 to March 13. 

 


Leading the team of 12 participants from the LRD out of the 23, an officer said that the state LRD is keen on following the principles and ethics of Permaculture so that sustainable farming can happen in the state. 

 


“The vision of the department is in line with Permaculture,” the officer said and added that the department already has 24 master trainers with training from Ariyan Farm Hyderabad and Himalayan Farm Project Nainatal. The third batch is attending the current training, he stated. 

 


He said that “very soon there will be Permaculture course running in research farm.” He also said that the department has already one Permaculture village in each district in the state and the department is implemented along with the normal activities.
