KOHIMA, DECEMBER 13 (MExN): The Phek Farmers’ Club (PFC) has registered unhappiness over the exorbitant tax imposed on the ginger growers of Phek at the various checks gates en-route Dimapur. In this connection, PFC president, Chekhünieyi Vero and chief coordinator, Thüputhiyi Venuh in a press note have urged upon the state government to address the plight of the ginger growers who are transporting their produces to Dimapur. The PFC stated that charging exorbitant tax on gingers farmers at the various check gates have been discouraging and hampering the venture of ginger growers, who depends their livelihood through ginger cultivation. The PFC further urged upon the authority concerned to take up the matter with urgency in the best interest of the ginger growers.
