Phek aims for 90% full Immunization coverage

Phek, December 5 (MExN): Phek District started its Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.O from December 2 which aims to immunize children under 2 years of age and pregnant women against ten vaccine preventable diseases. This mission also aims to achieve 90% full immunization coverage in the district.


As per a press release from district media officer, Phek, the IMI was focusing on the drop outs, left-outs, resistant families and hard to reach areas. Phek started its mission on the selected 19 sites which will be carried out till March 2020, it said.


With the present status of Phek full immunization coverage 71.6%, Phek aims to achieve at least 90% through IMI, targeting 89 children and 21 pregnant women in the first round, through the efforts of dedicated health workers to provide services to eligible children and save them from vaccine preventable diseases.


It aims to immunize all children below 2 years and pregnant women who were left uncovered under the government’s routine immunization program, it added.
