Phek, Aug 26: The My Bharat Office, Phek, in collaboration with Phek Government College authorities and its NSS Unit, will observe National Sports Day on August 27 along with the rest of the country.
Phek Government College is among the institutions selected by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to host the event, officials said.
A meeting between the My Bharat Office, Phek Government College authorities and the NSS Unit was held to discuss logistical preparations and arrangements for facilitating the programme.
The event will feature interaction between sports icons, youth influencers and young participants, providing them an opportunity to engage with personalities associated with sports and youth development.
The programme will also feature an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through audio-visual telecast, the organisers said. The National Sports Day is observed annually on August 29 in honour of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
