Phonetics training for Govt school teachers underway

Three day long phonetics training for Government school teachers got underway here today at Zonal Council Hall under the aegis of department of school education in collaboration with Jolly Phonics, UK.  

Gracing the inaugural session as the chief guest, G. Khevishe Phucho, additional secretary to the Government of Nagaland said that communication skill is necessary to teach the children in efficient manner.  

He also stressed on the need to develop clarity in explanation and pronunciation.  

Stating that everyone needs to undergo for basic training before performing its duty and responsibility, he called upon the teachers to take the ongoing training as opportunity and utilize the same for our children.  

Stating that teachers are the builder of the nation, he said holistic approach to child development depend how “we train and groom them.”  

In this planet, he said, we need to adapt with all the changes as situation demand and further urged upon the teachers to be an agent of change.  

Resource person Shainaz Sussa, MD and principal Jolly Phonics Mumbai stressed on the need to learn the right way of communication and adopt child-friendly teaching method.  

Vamu Lohe, joint director, Directorate of School asked the teachers to equip themselves with the subject matter and do the job in the best interest of the children.  

Earlier, the inaugural session was chaired by Ruth Chang. The training programme will go on till February 13.
