DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 22 (MExN): The Planning & Co-ordination Department today issued a clarification in response to the news report titled ‘Project amount drawn before completion of work’ published in this newspaper on August 20. The department’s clarification was pertaining to implementation of project for ‘Establishment of Modern Mechanical Work Shop-cum-Training Institute with Attached Hostels for Trainees’ at Dimapur amounting to Rs. 15.00 crore.
The department clarified that out of the amount of Rs. 15.00 crore sanctioned by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India for the project 'Establishment of Modern Mechanical Workshop-cum-Training Institute with Attached Hostel for Trainees' at Dimapur, an amount of Rs. 5, 40, 79, 900/- was released to the contractor as running bill and the balance amount of Rs. Rs. 7, 70, 55, 280/- which is exclusive of mandatory deductions as per NPWD SOR will be paid to the contractor after inspection and satisfactory completion of the work.
The department further stated that “work is in good progress” and furnished photographs of ongoing works. It further stated that the actual site of the project is at Shukhuvi Village, Dimapur.
