Planning & Co-ordination dept clarifies to NPRAAF

Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): Planning & Co-ordination department today clarified to the Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF), which recently enquired about the status of four projects in Dimapur district for which the government has already sanctioned Rs. 6.66 crore.  

According to a press release from Commissioner & Secretary M Patton, Rs 6,66,39,386 was released to the respective Deputy Commissioner for the acquisition of land for the four projects (see table).  

It further clarified that all land purchased/acquired by the government are done only with the prior approval of the State Land Acquisition Authority (SLAA). “Planning & Co-ordination department as the Nodal department for SLAA, the amount so sanctioned for payment of Land-Compensation to land owners are made through the respective Deputy Commissioners of the District and does not make payment directly,” the release added.  

On whether the projects exist or not, the release stated, the NPRAAF may get clarification from the concerned project implementing departments as projects are not implemented by the Planning & Co-ordination department, except those projects under its purview.
