Plantation towards clean, safe environment for children

Dimapur, June 26 (MExN): As part of Campaign 2023 activities, Child Friendly Dimapur, AIDA organised a plantation drive under the theme, ‘One step towards creating a clean and safe environment for the children’ on June 24 and 25. 

During the drive held in different localities and educational institutions of Dimapur and Chümoukedima, the participants planted 450 ornamental saplings provided by Dimapur District Forest Range Office for the said cause. 

Altogether, 242 participated in the drive. School authorities, teachers, child rights club members, child rights facilitators, youth and others from Sangtamtilla, Purana Bazaar, Kuda C, Tenyiphe I, K Sachu, Kacharigaon, Kirha, Selouphe, Govt HSS, Singrijan, Govt High School, Burma Camp, Naga Colony, Evershine School, Govt High School Thahekhu and Govt High School, Darogapathar were actively involved in the plantation drive. 

Some of the forthcoming programs for the campaign 2023 are: Pledge campaign, drawing competition, poster campaign, workshop on ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’, Best out of waste training, cleanliness drive, flash mob, inter-college extempore speech competition, walkathon and art exhibition cum sales day.
