It is disheartening to learn that Naga brothers and sisters in Karbi Anglong have to helplessly suffer in their own land. Down through the ages, “Why does the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper?” is a question no human wisdom can satisfactorily answer. Only one thing is very sure, God does not make a mistake and He does things according to His own time. Therefore, God will certainly do His part sooner or latter. But, we must do our part according what we can do at this crucial juncture for the sake of our Naga brothers and sisters in our neighboring State of Assam.
Therefore, may I humbly request every concerned citizens of Nagaland, be it individuals, NGOs, Churches, or Nagaland government to do something at the earliest. What Nagaland government has been doing for the Nagas outside of Nagaland in NEI or Myanmar in different forms is commendable; however, Nagaland government has not said or done enough for the Nagas in Karbi Anglong of Assam. Politically although the Western Rengmas are under the government of Assam and its administration, it will be a big mistake if the Nagaland government remains a mute spectator at this serious situation (I’m sure CM of Nagaland and his team are gathering their thoughts and working out strategies to intervene). Legislators can work out something with their counterparts in Assam for the safety of the Nagas in Assam. It should also strive for the deliverance of justice to the “sons and daughters of the soil” for all time. Dear fellow Nagas, apart from the initiative of the Nagaland government, let us do something according to our own capacities for the innocent suffering Nagas in the hands of our own neighbors. And, may I request all the Naga Christians to pray for God’s intervention according to His own will?
