I attended the church…and I heard it. The seminar…meeting…workshop… hospital; and I heard it there too! Heard what?? The beeping and ringing of cell phones…what else. Attend a service or any important meeting…the hall echoes around with unwarned ringing and beeping of cell phones, added with giggles, excuse me’s, hello’s and silent gossips!
I was in a meeting…quite important I thought, but to my surprise it was more like on a mobile advertising centre…the phones beeped…rang….some went out with excuse me’s to those near…whereby those who found humorous carelessly went on giggling over it…another was seen busy disconnecting calls…(who might have thought that it’s not the right time to receive)…while the other was busy playing mobile games! Every one was so lost in the cell maze that hardly anyone was found attentive in the meeting…if they weren’t interested, fine! But why distract the whole environment?
I can’t deny that almost every kid in town has a cell in hand…with the latest models and ring tones that they got…maybe after spending wallet full of cash…but is it that necessary to expose it to such an extent? Oh…surely in any other public place, but not in the church or during any important occasion please…it is not our domain or peer party everywhere…every time. Why can’t one switch it off when some important meeting or function is going on? If one is expecting an important call or for those who JUST DON’T want to have it switched off, why not place it in ‘silent mode’…(which I assume it is made for that purpose. )
Everyone for that matter is not the same but if you are ‘loud’ why place yourself to be the one spoiling the entire basket of fresh fruits? Our society is getting modernized but along with it, we should be more civilized in our ways to maintain equilibrium…wearing branded clothes and speaking good foreign language is not everything…Do I need to say more?
