Tuensang, April 9 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang organized Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana (PMFBY) at CKS hall on April 7 with Alem Jungshi, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang as chief guest.
During his speech, the DC said that several government programmes in the past could not bring desired results due to several reasons. He therefore requested citizens to approach and avail Government projects and schemes like PMFBY with honesty and dedication. The DC further encouraged farmers to think differently so as to change the subsistent agriculture to market oriented one.
During the programme, short speeches on different government programmes were delivered by Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture and Forest. This was followed by interaction session where several problems related to crops and animals were discussed. Further, Soil Health Card and folders on different aspect of crops and livestock were distributed to the farmers. The Kendra also exhibited technologies tested and found suitable for the district during the programme.
The programme was chaired by Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science) started with invocation of God’s blessing by NM Cholen, evangelist, while the keynote address was delivered by Programme Coordinator, KVK Tuensang. Altogether, 270 farmers, Government officials and NGOs attended the programme.
