Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The attention of the Nagaland Director General of Police is called to a recent police recruitment advertisement where a number of missing points were pointed. A concerned citizen by the name of Wati Jamir of Supply Colony in Dimapur has written to the DGP in reference to an advertisement dated January 15 for recruitment to the post of constable and driver for 14 Bn NAP (IR).
Jamir stated that the advertisement is incomplete since it does not specify the points, giving rise to a lot of confusion. The letter stated that there are no specification of the number of vacancies, genders and minimum or maximum age-limit, minimum physical requirements like height, chest, weight, eye etc. Further “since the main educational qualification is class VIII, the documents from which date of birth will be verified, in the absence of HSLC certificate/admit card, is also not mentioned” it stated. The standard of physical efficiency test is also not mentioned. “The time gape for submission of the application is also very less since the application from remote areas of eastern Nagaland may not each police complex, Chumukedima by the last date by post and hence they will have to come personally, physically spending a lot of money” the DGP was informed in the letter.
These points shows the casual approach of the department in concern, and does not speak well of the police department, the citizen observed. The citizen has requested the police department to clarify in the interest of all concerned.
