Kohima, February 12 (DIPR): ADC & ARO, Kohima, Dinesh Kumar IAS has in an order stated that no pilot cars with beacon lights of any colour or cars affixed with sirens of any kind, whether private or official, shall be used by any political functionary even if the state administration has granted him a security cover requiring presence of armed guards to accompany him on such visits. Further, any official who meets a minister on his private visit to the constituency where elections are being held, shall be guilty of misconduct under relevant service rules. 

The order also stated that the police authorities should be fully informed of the venue and time of proposed meetings well in time and all necessary permissions taken. If there are any restrictive or propitiatory orders in force in the place of the proposed meeting, they shall be fully respected. Exemption, if necessary, must be applied for and obtained well in time. Permission must be obtained for the use of loudspeakers or any other such facilities for proposed meetings.

The ADC also stated that any misuse of official machinery regarding vehicles, beacon lights or sirens or kind of pilot cars whether private owned or government owned, is not allowed to any minister, even MLA, during his private visit to the constituency as model code of conduct on election is in operation from the date of announcement of election. Any violation of the model code of conduct in this regard should be brought into the notice of the ADC & ARO Kohima and i/c of Complaint Monitoring Cell Kohima by the concerned administrative officer/sector magistrate for further necessary action and onward submission of Election Commission of India.
