Power Comm, New Market play out draw in high scoring thriller

Our Correspondent Kohima | August 23   The ongoing Kohima Football League witnessed a thrilling high scoring match on Wednesday as Power Comm FC drew 4-4 with New Market FC.   New Market took the lead through Chisie Nyusou in the 20th minute and Rhitso Mero added the second in the 32nd minute. But Power Comm pulled one back when Yhunshalo Kemp converted from a spot kick in the added time of the first half to make it 2-1.   In the second half, Power Comm relied on their ability to play long balls and it paid dividends as Sahovi Phinyo scored two goals – both through headers – in the 53rd and 65th minute.   With the match seemingly headed in favour of Power Comm, New Market remained undaunted and their persistence was rewarded when they scored two late goals – both coming in added time. Substitute Viluto Achumi made it 3-3 and minutes later, Megovilie Misalhou found the back of the net to give New Market FC the lead.   And it looked like Misalhou’s goal was the match-winner but Power Comm were awarded a lifeline after the referee pointed to the spot for a handball in the 95th minute. Yhunshalo Kemp stepped up and made no mistake in converting his second spot-kick.   Yellow cards were given to Kechi Kulim of New Market FC and Kenathong Kath of Power Comm FC.
