Power cuts continue to peeve students

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN):  Students preparing for their examinations are worried that the power cuts, or the complete lack of electricity, would hamper their performance.
“Every year these area reels under darkness when the examination approaches by the end of the year for school going and during these days for the board and university exams,” according to two former students leaders. Former ENSF executive T Rongli Sangtam and former SSU leader Dekhingchem Sangtam state din the note that a recent power disruption started ‘a couple of weeks back’ and power supply is hardly 6-7 hours a day. These phases also fluctuate, the two stated in a note.
The disruption in power supply is making the students miserable, the note said. “Our sympathy goes especially to those who come all the way from different villages with whatever little arrangements their parents could afford and rented in small, small places but had to spend every night on candles and kerosene,” the two stated. “The system of power irregularities during examination has become a trend.”
The note said the Power department should take the matter into ‘cognizance.’
