Kohima, December 19 (MExN): The Nagaland State Power Department has refuted claims of the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) alleging that the Department was not maintaining the 60:40 ratio for direct recruitment and promotion for SDOs and 90:10 ratio for JEs.
The Power Department’s rejoinder on December 19 was in response to the press release issued by CTAN published in local dailies on December 15 with regard to the requisition of the posts of S.D.O. (Elect) and J.E. (Elect) under the Department of Power.
The rejoinder issued by Er. G. Chishi, Engineer-in-Chief, informed that there are 53 sanctioned posts of S.D.O. (Elect) in the Department, out of which a ratio of 60:40 is maintained as per the NESR 2012 meaning 32 direct recruits and 21 promotees.
At present, there are 30 direct recruits and 21 promotees and the remaining 2 vacancies have been requisitioned to the NPSC for direct recruitment, the Power Department stated.
Similarly, the 90:10 ratio for J.E. (Elect) is maintained, the Department’s Engineer-in-Chief stated and added that out of the 139 sanctioned posts of J.E. of the Department, a ratio of 90:10 is being maintained where 90% of the posts are filled by direct recruit and 10% of the posts are filled by promotion from the serving employees who have completed at least 7 years in the immediate lower grade and possessing a minimum qualification of diploma in engineering strictly on the basis of merit-cum-seniority.
At present, there are 131 serving J.E. (Elect) and out of the 8 vacancies arising, 7 has been requisitioned to NPSC for recruitment and 1 has been reserved for promotion, the Power Department informed.
In this regard, the Department urged that questions pertaining to the maintenance of ratio as per NESR 2012 be clarified from the Office of the Engineer-in-Chief.
