Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercise on water and sanitation was conducted in eight villages including Vekuho (Old), Asukhuto, Vishepu (Old), Vishepu (New), Hoishe, Lukhayi, Ghukiye and Natha (Old) under Zunheboto district from March 15 to 21. It was organised by DWSM, PHED, Zunheboto Division under the sponsorship of WSSO, PHED, Kohima.
A press note stated that Hotolu, JE, PHED, Zunheboto and Tonika, sanitation consultant, Zunheboto division spoke on sanitation, negative impacts of unhygienic condition and its measures, importance of cleanliness and the ways to keep the village and its surrounding clean. Benathung Tsopoe, Chemist, Zunheboto division spoke on the prevailing water quality, ill effects of water borne diseases and its preventive measures while Er Mughalu, SDO (PHED) Atoizu Town spoke on communitisation, its targets and the steps to be initiated in the future. Kiyeshe Chishi, IEC consultant Zunheboto division chaired the programme.
