KROS College History department organises State level seminar
Kohima, July 23 (MExN): The Department of History, KROS College organized one day State level seminar on the theme ‘Preserving the past: The role of oral tradition in Naga History’ on July 21 in the college.
A press release informed that the objective of the seminar was to promote and preserve the heritage of Naga history, which has been handed down orally.
Dr. Zokho Venuh, Vice Principal, Capital College, Kohima, in his keynote laid stress on the survey and identification of potential sites that is possible through the information available from oral tradition. The paper presenters were Chubatoshi, Assistant Prof., KROS College & Research Scholar, Department of History & Archaeology, NU; Tovikali Yeptho, Asst. Prof., Japfü Christian College, Research Scholar, Department of History & Archaeology, NU; Kedivonu Kharutso, Research Scholar, Department of History & Archaeology, NU; and Avulu Resuh, Asst. Prof., Department of History, KROS College.
The seminar, the release stated, validated the fact that Naga history could be written through oral tradition as source with archaeology validating the truth. M Teithuvi Zho of BA 3rd semester chaired the programme, while Keluhol Tase, Vice Principal, KROS College delivered the welcome address and Kevilezo Kiewhuo of BA 1st semester said the vote of thanks.
