
DIMAPUR, MAY 22 (MExN): The 2nd Youth Life Challenge Meet is scheduled to commence from May 20 and continue till June 1 at the Development Association of Nagaland Complex at 4th mile near Carmel School. Samuel Walling, Secretary of the Youngs Club, Dimapur stated that the event would feature two different events but serve one goal and one vision.
The event is being conceptualized as a learning event to address the challenges that young people of the present age have to face. The youth informed that there would be interactions with various leaders and professionals from various organizations. A youth led NGO/CBO from eleven districts of Nagaland, including Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya are scheduled to meet in the event to promote unity and peace through social development.
One of the programmes in the event with the theme, “Learn, Lead and Serve” is an initiative created by Jenpu Rongmei, the founder and President of the Young’s Club. This is a programme in which discussions through various social issues would be undertaken through games and discussions through the members. This programme will not have any resource person. The note informed that the gathering would be divided into groups and they would raise topics on human rights, health, education, conflict, HIV/AIDS, gender issues, corruption etc.
The second programme titled, ‘5th Space’ was envisioned by ‘Community the Youth Collective (CYC). This programme would involve discussions on the relationship building capabilities of the youth along with the issues of personal and social transformation. Kamini Prakash, the Director of the PRAVAH is scheduled to be the resource person for the event.
The event is scheduled to have two sessions on human rights by Esther Aye and Limasenla Longkumer, who are both panel advocates of the state local service authority. A session on Organization and Personal Management by Lezo Pfutsure, founder of Smarter Nagaland (Youth Net) is also planned to be conducted at the event.
