Proper planning, transparency crucial for FC-XVI Grants: Chümoukedima DC

Chümoukedima, August 8 (MExN): A district-level orientation programme on the utilisation of XVI Finance Commission (FC-XVI) Tied Grants for Water and Sanitation was held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall, Chümoukedima, on August 7.

Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson, District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM), Chümoukedima, Polan John, NCS, stressed the importance of proper planning, transparency and effective utilisation of the grants to strengthen drinking water supply, sanitation and solid waste management across the district.

Officials from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the Rural Development Department (RDD) conducted technical sessions on the operational guidelines, planning, fund utilisation and implementation of FC-XVI Tied Grants. 

The programme concluded with an interactive discussion on ensuring effective execution of water and sanitation projects at the village level.
