Proposal to open Science College in Pfutsero approved

Biometric attendance system inaugurated in PGHSS

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 21 (MExN): The proposal for opening a science stream college in Pfutsero has been approved, informed Neiba Kronu, the Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Nagaland on September 21.   Gracing the Pfutsero Government Higher Secondary School’s 56th annual sports week on September 21, the Minister also assured that the present government is trying its level best to improve the standard of education in the state.  

Further lamenting the sorry state of infrastructure and teachers position in other parts of Nagaland, he pointed out that Pfutsero area students were lucky that they have got dedicated teachers and good infrastructure.  

The government’s recognition of Pfutsero Govt. College, upgradation of GHS Pfutsero to GHSS and construction of new classrooms for both have been done recently, he added.  

Concentrate on getting quality education and be ready first for the future armed with proper and relevant skills, Kronu exhorted the students adding that such concern should hold precedence over their worry about jobs.  

The chief guest also claimed that he had great concern for the students and that is why he tries to attend every program related with students.  

While wishing the students a great sports week, he also reminded them not to neglect their studies.  

The Minister later inaugurated a computer project - biometric attendance as well as smart room extension of the GHSS Pfutsero.  

A first of its kind project in GHSS in Nagaland, the biometric attendance project was made possible with the contribution from villages in and around Pfutsero as well as the Minister.  

The Minister expressed his appreciation to the neighbouring village leaders for their support to set up the computer project and also exhorted them to extend their help in future also.  

The program was attended by all the neighbouring leaders, head of institutions, teachers, public leaders and general public.
