Guwahati, May 4 (MExN): The office of Protector of Emigrants, Guwahati has been shifted and is now functional from the same premises as of the Regional Passport Office, Guwahati.
A DIPR report stated that the office, having jurisdiction over all 7 North Eastern States namely Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, is mandate under Emigration Act,1983 to opened to take care of large number of people migrating abroad from the 7 North-East States; to provide them proper guidance and assistance in all Emigrants related issues.
