The team led by Rajesh Shekhar from OMPLIS, Andhra Pradesh along with Block Level Manager, Chumukedima Block, Dimapur on February 24.
Dimapur: A 17 member team of Professional Resource Persons led by a senior training faculty, Rajesh Shekhar from OMPLIS, Andhra Pradesh arrived at Dimapur for a field visit. The main objectives of their visit was to recommend for uplifting the poorest of the poor and help develop a better Nagaland through formation of qualified and workable self help groups in rural areas of the state.
The team started through interactions of local SHGs at Chumukedima – ‘A’ village, under Chumukedima village Block of Dimapur district on February 24. It was conveyed under Block Development Manager (BDM), R.D. Block, Chumukedima, Dimapur, M. Yimok Phom and Block Development Officers and Area coordinator. In an informal interaction, Rajesh later on lamented that the saving idea is very poor, which is needed to built up through better awareness on its importance as long as livelihood is concern.
In the first day session was attended by SMMU Team, DPM, BDO, SMMU Team along with the Central team and local SHGs.
It is pertinent to note that NSRLM in the state has been started in Nagaland last year 2013 and PRP stands for Professional Resource Persons, which are useful for especially SHGs and other training on such issues, are concern.
The team will split into two parts where they will be heading for other districts during the stay of a week time in Nagaland for knowing better in the rural areas to execute various projects under Rural Livelihood Mission. It is a project currently sponsored by the World Bank implemented by Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) and Department of Rural Development, Government of Nagaland is the nodal agency to implement it.
