PRSU call to govt on department discrepancies

Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): Expressing displeasure over the apathy of government, Pathso Range Students’ Union (PRSU), the apex student body of eight villages under Noklak sub-division, Tuensang district working for the welfare of public in general and student community in particular stated that it is “is aggrieved to see the condition of the people which is intolerable to remain silent anymore.” 

The PSRU in a statement jointly issued by its president T Tangsoi and general secretary S Muchu has drawn attention of the government departments which has discrepancies in their functioning for timely redressal. 

The Union highlighted that Panso, the only EAC headquarter of eight villages have no EAC since 2009. Administrative inconvenience has become the order of the day for the people of the range. 

Educationally, the PRSU have found that almost every school is running with shortage of staff. Some of the school which is up to Class three is running with two teachers and rampant transfer of teachers with post without reliever is taking place. Thus, emphasizing different system of teaching system of teaching learning process remains a distant dream. 

In the field of road transportation, villages of the area are unable to connect with motorable roads. Further, the only road that connects Noklak sub-division is not motarable and the road connecting Tuensang district Hq from Pathso is lying blocked by landslides since June 2012. New approach road via Shamator the only remaining lifeline not yet taken up by the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD) is managed by passengers. Working with two to three landslides have become the routine activity.  
In the health sector, PHC Panso and sub-centre Tsuwao have no adequate staff. The two health centre is mark with shortage of facilities and medicines. In the joint villages of Pathso, Nokeng and Ekhao approximately 29 deaths during this year, mostly adults have taken place. This is a direct impact of poor health care facilities and road transport.

Power facility is in a state of darkness. Out of five department field workers, four of them is transferred out without reliever. 
“Sharing the same government, this part of the State is still neglected in every sphere. People here do not grudge always despite numerous grievances which is taken as normal,” PRSU stated while appealing the government of the day to take this statement as “a wake up call, as the burnt of negligence on the ground has become unbearable for the people of this region.”
