The 59th general session cum cultural dance competition of the Phek Students’ Union (PSU) got underway at Phek village local ground under the theme “Education for culture.”
Speaking at the inaugural function this morning, Nukutulii Rhakho, under secretary, women resources department, Government of Nagaland, challenged the students to focus on competitive exam and come out triumphant. Touching on the session theme, she maintained that education and culture go hand in hand. “They cannot be separated from one another as both are part of our life,” she said.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Kho-o Keyho while welcome address was delivered by Kuthovo Chizo.
Kiidezo Vero read out the general secretary report while meritorious award presentation was presided by Khriihive Keyho. Meanwhile, minister for home Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will grace the day two session on December 30 as the guest speaker. Nechochiyi Venuh, District & Session Judge will also exhort the gathering. Cultural dance competition will also take place on the same day. Folk dance winner will be awarded with Late Hiivekhiiyi Soho’s Memorial Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.
