PTCSU organizes sanitation drive

Kohima, April 11 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) has successfully conducted “Sanitation Drive cum Awareness Programme” under the theme “Clean Town, Happy Life” on April 9 last.  

Several students joined the programme by cleaning roads, government offices and various locations in Phek town. As a sign of goodwill gesture, PTCSU donated 67 wastebins and installed at the different locations of the town.  

During sanitation awareness programme, Veta Khamo, Founder Ripples Club and Phek Town Baptist Church (PTBC) church secretary spoke on the occasion.

Khamo called upon the students to carry the message of cleanliness to everyone.  

He challenged the student community to play a pro-active role to bring positive change in the society.  

The programme was chaired by Dairhü Luckson, Headmaster RFS while Vevolü Vero Headmistress CMHS invoked God’s blessing.  

Vote of thanks was poposed by KhruzotaVadeo, representative to CSU and benediction pronounced by Tepuvi Sechü, Asst. Headmaster HCS.  

Meanwhile, cash prize along with citation certificate were awarded to Vekulalü Chizo of Christian Mission High School for bagging the 1st position in painting competition and Khrukutulü of Christian Home High School in Essay Competition.  

Around 1800 students including PTCSU officials, colony representatives, volunteers and teachers participated in the programme.
