DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17 (MExN): The Peren Town People’s Forum (PTPF) conducted a training on Dialogue for Peace Building under the aegis of Peace Channel on November 12 at Grace Complex, Peren Town Baptist Church.
The program began with an invocation by Kuyipeung Irangbe. The facilitator highlighted the order of the program and also welcomed all the participants in the training. Rosa Angami, District Coordinator, Peace Channel was the resource person for the training.
The resource person conducted an exercise to convey the concept of peace. “Peace is not just the absence of conflict and violence but peace is the ability to manage and resolve conflict without violence where each individual can work together to improve the quality of their lives. Peace is a societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility and violence,” Irangbe stated.
Rosa Angami meanwhile said dialogue is the basic process for building common understanding by letting go of the differences and misunderstanding. Dialogue is focused and intended conversation, a space for civility and equality in which those who differ may speak and listen to each other, she added. A total of 16 people participated in the program.
