Wokha, April 15 (DIPR): Co-Convenor of Verification Committee & EAC Wokha, Athrong in an official notification reminded all concerned, public of Wokha town, villages falling under the alignment of NH-61 that the specification of the NH-61 as per the National Highway Act for Right of Way is 60 (sixty) feet i.e, 20 meters starting from KM 68/0 (Santsuphen) to KM 105/0 (Doyang Bridge).
Hence forth, public will have to set aside 30 (thirty) feet i.e, 10 (ten) meters from the middle of the NH-61 road for taking up any kind of building construction. The construction permit will be issued by the committee, on the strength of the recommendation/clearance made by the Executive Engineer or SDO PWD National Highway Division. In case of any violation of the above order, the owners of the building will have no right to claim compensation from the Government.
In addition, a committee is hereby constituted to assess and report on the encroachments within the town area. The committee shall comprise of SDO (C) 1, Wokha as Chairman; Assistant Director Urban Development, Wokha as Member Secretary and SDO, PWD (R&B) and SDO (PWD) R&B (NH) as members.
