Pughoboto SDPDB meeting for April held

• Green Pughoboto Plantation Week from May 14 to 19

• Discusses Biodiversity Conservation concerns

Pughoboto, April 10 (DIPR): The Sub-Division Planning Development Board (SDPDB), Pughoboto meeting for the month of April was held with MLA and Chairman, Y. Vikheho Swu at the ADC office Pughoboto on April 9.  

MLA Y. Vikheho Swu who was re-elected from the 13 A/C Pughoboto acknowledged all the officers in the meeting for their rendered services with co-operation and while lauding the election officials he said that the election was held without facing any problem and conducted successfully.  

Swu said that he tried his best to initiate a new programme in the Pughoboto Sub-Division and launched a few programme under LADP and assured that he will continue to carry out the development works to uplift Pughoboto. The MLA said that to encourage the farmers he is planning to bring officials from the Land Resources Department for ‘Coffee Plantation’ in his area next month.  

For ‘Green Pughoboto’ Pughoboto programme for ‘Plantation Week’ will be held from May 14 to 19. The plantation programme has been tentatively fixed on May 14 in Asukiqa area, May 16 at Ghathashi area and May 18 at Khucho Tsuyi (KT) area where denizens have been asked to participate in their own respective places. The MLA said that an award of Rs. 50,000 will be given to villages for arranging maximum plantation on their own and for nurturing the saplings.  

The house deliberated on lifting of boulders from the Doyang River and agreed to send as a letter to remind the Village Council to prohibit the lifting of boulders. The house also approved to hold a seminar on ‘Biodiversity Conservation’ on the June 5 coinciding with the World Environment day and the next SDPDB meeting is scheduled on May 7. The house also decided to write to the concern departments to give direct power supply to Pughoboto from Kohima.  

Others agenda discussed included Clean Pughoboto Award Committee, CHC Pughoboto, Maths Teacher under GHS Ghathashi, Lazami, Pughoboto, Water supply to Pughoboto and opening of SBI.
