PWD field workers association urge application of 67% quota

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 31 (MExN): The All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association (ANPWDFWA) has asked the Commissioner and Secretary for Work and Housing to implement the 67% Quota vacancies for W/C Employees Service Regularisation.

In a representation, the association lamented that “there has been no concern for us by the department especially for the W/C employees and we are deprived of being regularized despite many vacancies arising out of retirement, the resulting vacancies in the department are always occupied by the fresh appointee depriving the genuine W/C employees who have served the department for many years with just a wager wages.”

It observed that many fresh appointments are going on from higher ups in the 67% quota, which is meant for senior most genuine W/C employees and pointed out that several W/C employees await regularisation under the scheme of 67% reservation.

“We have enough appeal on this matter but the department had a deaf ear and left out genuine W/C employees, however, as the demand for W/C employees was not fulfilled, the entire Division/Sub-Division will go on strike blocking all the existing PWD roads in case the department fails to listen to the wishes of the W/C employees,” it cautioned.
