In a significant development, an 8 feet 3 inches long python was donated to the Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) located in Dimapur through the forest officials in Kohima on July 28.
Caught alive at RK Farm, Zhadima village on July 27, the python was donated by Chiephobozou BDO Seyiekhrielie Rio, Nerhema VDB secretary Rükravolie Rüho, and Zhadima VDB secretary Roko Angami.
Rio said the move was made to create awareness among the villagers towards preserving and conserving wildlife in the State for the future. He was optimistic that it will be an example for all to follow.
Meanwhile, a forest official said the python will be transferred to NZP on July 30.
