Mokokchung, December 30 (MExN): Radio City, a young band from Kohima, won the Sungkotenem Beat Contest “Clash of the Bands 2016” at the Sungkotenem Festival at Mopungchuket village, Mokokchung. Tune up channel and The Great Decade, both from Mokokchung, were the first and second runner up respectively. The Best vocalist was bagged by Lanu from Mingle tones while Tongpang from The Last Decade was adjudged the Best Bassist. Mathung of Brainstorm Island was awarded Best Drummer and Lipok from Tune Up channel was adjudged the Best guitarist. The best originals was bagged by Radio City. Sungkotenem Beat Contest organized by the Mopunghuket Student’s Union (MALT) is held once every 4 years and is one of the most popular beat contest in Mokokchung.
